About the Rise Mentoring Programme
Are you a woman dreaming of making strides in the media technology sector? Look no further! Our coveted six-month journey is tailor-made to support and empower you every step of the way.
Here's what you can expect as a Rise Mentee:
- Get paired with an industry mentor for at least 12 hours of personalised guidance,
- Monthly mentee meetings and exclusive access to industry events to expand your network,

- Tap into peer-to-peer support from your fellow mentees and guidance from our dedicated Rise team.
Participation in the programme is free of charge, thanks to the generous support of our industry partners and the invaluable time given by our esteemed mentors.

Who can become a Rise Mentor
Rise Mentors are exceptional individuals of all genders, and seasoned professionals across various roles in the broadcast and media technology industry. They all embody strong leadership qualities and a deep commitment to fostering diversity.
To qualify, you need to have substantial working experience in the field and commit to dedicating your time and expertise to guide and support your Mentee throughout the immersive 6-month programme.
Candidates need to be based in one of the following regions covered by the programme:
- the UK,
- Europe,
- North America,
- India,
- the APAC region,
- the ANZ region.
Timescales and further information
Applications closed on the 22nd of March 2024.
If your application is successful, you will hear from Rise by early May, with the programme starting at the end of May and running until November 2024.

The programme is open to female, male and non-binary Mentors alike, based in one of the following regions covered by the programme: the UK, Europe, North America, India, APAC and ANZ.
Please note: you will only be invited to become a Rise Mentor if your profile matches one of our successful Mentee applicants' needs. If it is not the case in 2025, we will be happy to keep you informed of future mentoring opportunities.

What is the Rise Mentoring Programme?
The Rise Mentoring Programme is a 6 month global initiative open to women working in the media technology industry. This could include women working in technical/engineering roles, through to those working in support roles, such as marketing and PR. It will run from May-November 2024. The programme events comprise of sessions which will run at various times of the day and evening, both in person and online.
Who can apply to be a Mentee in the programme?
The programme is tailored for women aspiring to elevate and advance their careers in the broadcast and media technology industry to the next stage.
Is there an age limit for Mentees?
No, we welcome professionals of all ages.
How can I apply to become a Mentee?
To apply, interested individuals should fill out the online application form available on the program's website during the designated application period. If you have any questions which you may feel affect your application please contact admin@risewib.com.
What are the criteria for selecting Mentees?
Mentees are selected based on their passion for the broadcast industry, career goals, and the potential for growth as well as a demonstrable commitment to the programme. The selection process also considers diversity to ensure a well-rounded and inclusive cohort.
How are Mentors matched with Mentees?
Mentors and mentees are carefully matched based on a vast criteria including their professional backgrounds, expertise, and the career goals as well as other relevant information shared on the application form, and interests of the mentees. The programme aims to create meaningful and beneficial mentor pairings and connections.
What is the time commitment for the Rise Mentoring Programme?
The programme typically runs for a 6 month period, and mentees are expected to commit to regular meetings with their mentors, attend scheduled events with an expected 85% attendance on the programme and actively engage in the mentoring relationship. A typical amount of time spent with your mentor is 2 hours a month, however, the time commitment is flexible, but should be discussed and agreed upon by both mentors and mentees.
What kind of support can Mentees expect from their Mentors?
Mentors provide guidance, advice, and support tailored to the mentee's individual needs and career goals. This may include career development insights, networking opportunities, and skill-building recommendations. This is a hugely beneficial relationship which is nurtured by the commitment of both mentee and mentor.
Are there networking events or workshops organised as part of the programme?
Can I participate in the programme if I am not currently working in the broadcast industry?
The programme is designed for professionals already working in the industry and those aspiring to do so. However, applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in broadcasting.

Is there a cost to the programme?
No, the costs of the programme are covered by our sponsors and supporters.

As part of our community, you will be invited to all of our networking events / conferences / panels, as well as be asked to nominate your colleagues in our annual Rise Awards.
