About the Role

Timeline Television is looking for a proactive, highly focused and organised individual to work within our ITV Sport Media team, providing media management support services to ITV Sport production, based in Ealing Broadway, West London.

This role is for 40 hours per week, and you will be required to work some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, with days off in lieu being provided, and will involve both office-based and occasional remote home working.  Occasionally, you may be required to work at other locations incl. broadcast media hubs, and ITV Sport Outside Broadcasts.

We are seeking an individual with extensive experience of working within the broadcast industry or similar role.

Main Duties

●        Advise the production teams on use of appropriate broadcast file types and codecs in accordance with ITV’s Technical standards

●        Liaising with Producers, MCR and Archive teams as a primary contact for production media

●        Assist the Senior Media Manager in changes to the system configuration and first line support

●        Ingest of archive media from camera cards, broadcast drives, physical tapes and file transfers from external sources, and adding metadata

●        Recording of incoming feeds, adding metadata and sending to relevant destinations

●        Creating archive compilations of media from sport events

●        Logging of ingest media and archive material

●        Archiving media according to department policy

●        Deleting media that is no longer required, working to policy and deadline

●        Fulfilling requests for media; internally to ITV Sport production, ITV News and Creative, and externally to sales clients, sport partners and other broadcasters

●        Organising and monitoring broadcast tape requests for ingest

●        Playing out media to Outside Broadcast production of live events

●        Developing media management plans for projects and programmes

●        Attending department planning meetings for new projects and large events

●        Management of the MAM file structure to meet ITV’s Media Management and Archive Policies

●        Minor archive research for ITV Sport production, using both material in the ITV Sport MAM and in other ITV databases via Sigma, Mediapulse, and CrysTL


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

●        Good understanding of TV Sports broadcasting practises and conventions

●        Demonstrable knowledge and experience with EVS systems and workflows, in particular IPDirector, XFile, XSquare and Adobe Media Encoder

●        Experience of MAM systems and procedures, and best practice in metadata and taxonomy

●        You must be able to work effectively on your own and within a larger team

●        Demonstrate flexibility and resilience, and must be able to stay calm under pressure

●        Must be able to work to deadlines

●        Excellent communication skills

●        Flexible approach to the job and ability to adapt to last-minute changes in

operational requirements

●        General knowledge and an interest of sports

●        Knowledge of broadcast file-types and codecs and a familiarity with DPP specifications for programme delivery

●        Essential that you have previous experience in the media industry or a similar role
