Rise North America Mentoring Program Manager

The award-winning Rise mentoring program has been delivered over the last five years
with programmes in UK / North America / Europe and APAC.

We are now looking ahead to our delivery in 2023 and are looking for someone to manage
and run the North America program – the role will begin in early March 2023, continuing
through to November 2023. This is a flexible, part time role with some months requiring more support than others.

This person will be organised, empathetic, ideally have some event organisation or
education background and they must know the media technology sector. Ideally, they will
have had experience of leading or being involved in mentoring programs too.

Job Role:

  • Manage all applications and responses to application enquiries
  • Arrange and lead on mentoring recruitment event for the program for both
    mentors and mentees
  • Arrange and lead on marketing and comms for the mentoring program working
    with the Rise MD and Marketing Manager, i.e. Rise’s social channels and
    broadcast network
  • Recruit and liaise with all Mentors throughout program
  • Manage and distribute applications to the Rise team for assessment
  • Manage all correspondence with applicants and mentees throughout the program
  • Manage pairing process for mentors and mentees and all related documents and
    correspondence
  • Ensure all bios and photos are collated for the Rise website
  • Manage and arrange training program for mentors and mentees for the start of the
    program
  • Work with any mentees/mentors on issues that might arise
  • Develop, manage and lead on all monthly mentee meet-ups – to include presentation schedules, CPD training session and closed interviews with the industry
  • Manage speed networking events or coffee roulettes
  • Manage mentor meet-ups
  • Organise and manage all industry related events for mentees and mentors – invite mentees and mentors to all wider Rise events
  • Manage and deliver wrap event

The ideal candidate for this role will be/have:

  • A self-starter with high attention to detail and able to work autonomously
  • Excellent project management/organisation skills to coordinate all activities and tasks
    involved in setting up and implementing the North America mentoring program
  • Experienced at multi-tasking and working with various stakeholders
  • Assessment skills to link the programme’s objectives to the participants’ needs and
    adjust the program accordingly
  • Communication skills to become a mentoring ambassador and communicate
    articulately about the benefits of mentoring to promote the program and convince
    participants to actively engage
  • Relationship building skills to create trust, rapport and openness with and among participants to build a great peer support network
  • Coaching and mentoring skills such as empathy and listening to be able to support participants and troubleshoot in case of issues
  • Ideally experience in mentoring or have trained as a mentor so are able to role model behaviors to programme participants
  • Analytical and reporting skills to be able to ensure the program is tracking well and delivering on its promise and objectives.
  • Be highly competent using all Microsoft packages including PowerPoint, Google Workspace and Dropbox
