The Role

We're seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to anchor our operations team, responsible for overseeing extensive cloud deployments and ensuring the seamless delivery of audio/video content worldwide. This role is a blend of innovation, leadership, and technical excellence, set
within a vibrant, growing company renowned for pushing the boundaries of live streaming technology.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work and is available on a full-time, part-time, or contract basis, with our main office situated in Berlin, Germany.

Your Responsibilities

• Architect and refine our cloud infrastructure to enhance security, reliability, and performance.
• Spearhead new deployment strategies and structural implementations across our global streaming infrastructure.
• Oversee the global logging and metrics collection using our ELK stack, ensuring optimal performance and insights.
• Lead and inspire a dedicated operations team, fostering collaboration across various departments to meet and exceed objectives.
• Interface directly with stakeholders, including management, engineering, support, and marketing, to align and execute company vision.

Qualifications

• Profound expertise in Linux OS and script-based automation.
• Solid background in cloud deployment methodologies, including familiarity with tools like Gitlab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and the ELK stack.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, GoLang, and Python.
• Demonstrated history with SaaS backends, REST APIs, and extensive cloud deployment.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and cloud providers (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.).
• Knowledge in video streaming technology is a significant plus.

Soft skills

• Excellent communication abilities, fluent in English (German is a bonus).
• Strong leadership skills, capable of both team collaboration and independent decision-making.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a knack for problem-solving.
• Open to providing occasional level 2 technical support for urgent issues.
