The Position:

The Senior Edit Support and Media Operator is pivotal in maintaining the technical efficiency and seamless operation of the offline suites. This role involves providing essential operational and technical support to clients and colleagues, handling ingest and prep work, managing media storage and transfers, and ensuring the production of materials to the highest quality standards. Additionally, the Senior Edit Support and Media Operator will act as a primary point of contact for clients and Post Production Managers, offering expert assistance and guidance on technical issues and ongoing projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  • Provide operational and technical support, tackling fault-finding and maintenance for offline clients and suites.
  •  • Be the primary contact for clients and Post Production Managers, handling inquiries and project updates with ease.
  •  • Manage ingesting, preparation, conforming, exporting, and delivery of post-production materials.
  •  • Assist the QC team with room setup, practical knowledge, and reporting to maintain the highest standards.
  •  • Oversee Nexis files and workspaces, ensuring efficient media storage, transfer, and output.
  •  • Create deliverables using standard editing, encoding, and transcoding procedures.
  •  • Identify and resolve equipment and material issues, communicating solutions clearly to all stakeholders.
  •  • Ensure all materials meet technical specifications for delivery to broadcasters, SVODs, and distributors.
  •  • Support online suites with tasks like playouts from Flame and provide Avid support to clients and colleagues.
  •  • Maintain accurate file labeling and project documentation.
  •  • Report technical equipment issues to the engineering team and keep technical equipment and work areas clean and functional.
  •  • Offer friendly, efficient, and reliable service to clients, ensuring their satisfaction.
  •  • Assist the Offline Manager with training and monitoring the MCR team.
  •  • Support the DIT and Lab teams with offloading and syncing, logging and transcoding, delivery, quality checks, data integrity, and colour management and correction.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  •  • Proven experience in Edit Support within post-production.
  •  • Strong understanding of TV and film post-production technology.
  •  • Familiarity with operational broadcast theory and modern workflows.
  •  • Proficiency in Non-Linear Editing (NLE) systems.
  •  • In-depth knowledge of video and audio codecs, compression techniques, file transcoding, and technical considerations for media delivery across various platforms and distribution channels.
  •  • Experience with data processes, file management, and media transfer.
