Test Engineer/Hardware Operations Specialist

As a Test Engineer at Hitomi, you will play a critical part in ensuring the highest quality standards are met from manufacturing through to order fulfilment. You will use your knowledge of electronics and manufacturing to achieve this, liaising closely with manufactures and the Hitomi Engineering team. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to apply their abilities in this key part of the business and build on their experience.

This role is critical to maintaining Hitomi’s reputation for excellence, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while expanding your technical skills and experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-Ship Testing & Licensing:

     o Ensure orders are accurate, licensed, and fully operational before dispatch.

• Manufacturing Investigations & Diagnostics:

     o Resolve production issues, recommend procedural improvements.

• RMA Investigations & Diagnostics:

     o Hardware diagnosis to identify and resolve issues, and inform product improvements.

• Hire Equipment Licensing and Return Testing:

     o Timely and accurate licensing for hire equipment, and testing upon return.

• On-Site Training for manufacturing Staff:

     o Train subcontractor staff in production test procedures to ensure consistent high standards.

• Manufactured Assembly Management:

     o Maintain up-to-date records on ICT systems to track and manage assemblies.

• Production Environment Maintenance:

     o Regularly maintain Hitomi’s production test environments and equipment.

• Technical Repairs and Modifications:

     o Provide instruction and documentation for board-level rework and modifications. Ability to perform some soldering tasks is preferable.

     o Strong diagnostic skills, capable of addressing hardware issues from systemlevel down to individual components.

• Process Improvement Mindset:

     o Skilled in identifying and implementing procedural enhancements to boost operational efficiency and product quality.

• Data Management Skills:

     o Good ICT skills and competent in data entry and system administration, with experience common computer programs like Word and Excel.

• Training and Communication Abilities:

     o Capable of instructing and supporting staff effectively in testing procedures and quality standards.

• Adaptability and Resilience:

     o Comfortable navigating diverse environments, including the Hitomi office and subcontractor site.

• Independent and Proactive:

     o Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills.

• Attention to Detail:

     o Meticulous in quality control, data accuracy, and customer service.

• Effective Communicator:

     o Able to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.

• Valid Driving License and Reliable Transportation:

     o Essential for commuting between Hitomi and subcontractor sites.

• Availability for a Split-Location Role:

     o Willingness to manage responsibilities across multiple locations each week.
